Dr. Ronald Wek

Dr Wek received his PhD at the University of California Irvine and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the NIH in the laboratory of Dr Alan Hinnebusch.

He has authored over 200 publications in the field of translational control and the stress response pathways. 

In 2016, he became an Associate Editor for The Journal of Biological Chemistry and in 2019 joined PAAC (Public Affairs Advisory Commitee of ASBMB) which advocates for science policy in support of basic research and workforce policies which enhance the  training of future scientists

He enjoys mentoring students and posdocs , has been involved as a course director in Medical School education and continues to be involved in graduate education.
